Adèle Flamand-Browne is a New England–based artist whose practice bridges drawing, painting, and printmaking. A graduate of Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, she continues to expand upon her figurative foundations, originally developed at the academy, by weaving in materials and objects that deepen the narrative and contextual layers of her work.
Currently, Adèle is focused on creating carbon pigment paintings that explore the interplay of form, texture, and meaning. Her large-scale compositions draw on the sensitivity of line and the physicality of material, resulting in work that is both intimate and monumental. She exhibits regularly at Arcadia Contemporary Gallery in New York City, with recurring group shows that highlight her evolving vision.
Her career began with numerous exhibitions during and after her studies, including an international showing during a semester abroad in Italy. She is the recipient of multiple academic and merit scholarships from LACFA and was awarded the Stobart Fellowship in 2019, which enabled her to develop a body of work inspired by her senior show. Recently Adèle has been featured in art publications such as Fine Art Connoisseur and Beautiful Bizarre magazines, and continues to seek out collaborations that expand her technical range and deepen her engagement with the figurative tradition.
